HKS Center Evaluation: Elite EClassical 3200L HPLC Achieves Performance Comparable to International Counterparts

In March 2026, the China Customs Science and Technology Research Center (HKS Center) released the E3200L UHPLC Verification and Comprehensive Evaluation Report. Conducted over one year, the evaluation was organized by China Customs, with an expert panel carrying out systematic verification and comprehensive assessment of Elite’s EClassical 3200L UHPLC.

After reviewing the evaluation data and conducting on-site inspections, the evaluation expert panel unanimously confirmed that the E3200L demonstrates excellent instrument performance and achieves a performance level comparable to international products of the same category. The evaluation provides objective and rigorous third-party validation of the E3200L’s performance.

I. Verification Basis: A Dual-Layer Verification Framework Combining Basic Performance and Application Performance

The evaluation adopted a dual-layer verification framework combining basic instrument performance verification and application performance verification. This approach ensured not only that the instrument met the required technical specifications, but also validated its suitability for practical analytical applications.

  1. Basic Instrument Performance Verification Standards

The basic performance verification was conducted according to the following national standards and regulations:

JJG 705-2014 Liquid Chromatography
A national metrological verification regulation that serves as the fundamental technical specification for performance evaluation of liquid chromatography instruments.

GB/T 26792-2019 High Performance Liquid Chromatography
A national standard specifying technical requirements and testing methods for high performance liquid chromatography systems.

The application performance verification selected multiple real-world analytical standards from fields including food safety and cosmetics analysis, including:

This dual-layer verification system ensured that the evaluation covered both the intrinsic performance of the instrument and its capability in actual analytical testing scenarios.

II. Verification Results

The evaluation report established clear acceptance criteria for each verification indicator and compared the measured results of the E3200L against the defined standards item by item.:

The verification results demonstrated that the measured performance of the E3200L generally exceeded the acceptance criteria, with particularly strong performance in key indicators such as minimum detectable concentration and system repeatability.

  1. Application Performance Verification Results

The application performance verification evaluated the analytical performance of the E3200L across multiple standardized testing methods in food safety and cosmetics analysis.

The results include:

Determination of benzoic acid, sorbic acid and saccharin sodium in foods:
The linear correlation coefficients were all greater than 0.999, with recoveries ranging from 90% to 110% and precision below 1%.

Determination of benzo(a)pyrene in foods:
The method achieved a linear correlation coefficient of 0.9998, with recoveries ranging from 80.6% to 103.9%.

Determination of hydroquinone and phenol in cosmetics:
The linear correlation coefficients were ≥ 0.9996, with recoveries ranging from 90.3% to 110.0%.

Determination of synthetic colourants in foods:
The system successfully achieved effective separation of 11 synthetic colourants, with limits of detection and quantification meeting the requirements of the analytical method.

The verification results demonstrate that the E3200L delivers reliable analytical performance across different application scenarios. The measured results generally exceeded the defined requirements, with particularly strong performance in key indicators such as detection sensitivity and system repeatability.

 

 III. Customer Focus Points: Comprehensive Evaluation from Technical Indicators to Practical Applications

  1. Data Integrity and Compliance

The report specifically recognized the compliance-oriented design of the software system:

“The system features audit trails, user permission management, regular data backup, and error notification functions. It enables traceability of raw data and software operations, facilitating laboratory personnel management and safety management. The system can fully meet data integrity requirements under regulations in different countries.”

Through these functions, the E3200L software supports reliable data management and helps laboratories establish compliant analytical workflows.

  1. Ease of Operation

The report highlighted the clear software architecture and user-friendly operation experience.Also identified the instrument’s automatic verification and automatic shutdown functions as important advantages:

“The automatic calibration and automatic shutdown functions are among the highlights of this system. After completing all sequence tasks, the instrument can safely and automatically shut down the pump flow, detector lamps, column oven temperature, and other parameters, providing significant convenience for operators.”

These features simplify routine operation and improve laboratory efficiency.

  1. Modularity and Expandability

The report recognized the modular design and flexible configuration capability of the E3200L:

“The instrument adopts a modular design, enabling flexible system configuration. Different detectors can be freely combined or connected in series to meet different application requirements.”

This modular architecture allows laboratories to configure analytical systems according to specific testing needs and expand system capabilities for future applications.

As a national-level authoritative testing institution, the China Customs Science and Technology Research Center issued the evaluation report in March 2026. Based on comprehensive verification and assessment, the expert panel unanimously concluded:

“The E3200L HPLC demonstrates excellent instrument performance, comprehensive software functionality, and convenient operation. It achieves qualitative and quantitative analysis performance and capabilities comparable to imported instruments of the same type, and fully meets the requirements of analytical laboratories for liquid chromatography applications.”
