The EliteUG Zn reduction column is packed with 99.99% high-purity zinc powder and is a specialized reduction chromatography column developed according to the national standard for the detection of vitamin K1 in food. It fully meets the requirements of GB 5009.158-2016, "Determination of Vitamin K1 in Foods".

Ultrafine zinc powder primarily serves as a key raw material for zinc-rich coatings and high-performance coatings for anti-corrosion and environmental protection purposes. With the continuous development of new high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods, post-column reduction has become one of the techniques to enhance the detection sensitivity of analytes, such as the analysis and detection of vitamin K1 and K2, as well as the detection of nitrates. Initially, separation is achieved using a reversed-phase C18 chromatographic column, followed by post-column derivatization using a zinc powder reduction column. Finally, detection is performed using a fluorescence detector, and quantification is achieved using an external standard method. Therefore, it is necessary to pack the zinc powder into the reduction column, and its performance directly affects the chromatographic peak shape, separation performance, and quantification results.
Under room temperature conditions, using toluene/methanol solution as the performance evaluation marker, methanol as the mobile phase, with a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and a detection wavelength of UV254 nm, for a reduction column with specifications of ID4.6×50mm, the retention time is less than 0.5 min. After inspection and verification of batches of reduction columns, the column efficiency is around 5000~8000 N/m, and the asymmetry is around 0.8~1.5, which can meet the post-column reduction requirements and has no impact on quantitative analysis and detection.
